A local lawmaker plans to advance a bill that would limit the authority of the governor as part of a voting meeting scheduled for today.
In his role as Majority Chairman of the PA House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee, State Representative Daryl Metcalfe would like to advance House Bill 2025 at the meeting planned for 10 a.m. in the Harrisburg State Capitol Complex.
This bill would reinforce that legislative authority is required before the state would be able to join a cap-and-trade, carbon tax-imposing emissions program like the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.
Metcalfe originally wanted to invite supporters of this measure to witness this vote but most areas of the Capitol Complex remain closed to the public. The hearing will be streamed live on Metcalfe’s website.
