Local United States Congressman Mike Kelly is among those calling for a re-opening of the U.S. Capitol to the public.
Kelly was joined by over 60 colleagues in the House of Representatives in sending a letter to the Attending Physician of that body requesting new social distancing guidelines.
The Senate Sergeant at Arms has already chosen to re-open the Senate side of the Capitol Building for limited visitors and tours but the counterpart in the House has not yet taken action.
Kelly stated “The American people don’t have the luxury of closing their doors when times get tough. Yet, for nearly two years Congress has done just that.”
The last social distancing guidelines issued by the House Attending Physician were issued in July of 2021.
