Congressman Mike Kelly is aiming to increase funding for cancer research as part of a congressional caucus.
The Republican from Butler was once again named a co-chair of the House Cancer Caucus. The goal of the group is to “advance research in the fight against cancer, increase access to cancer screenings, and improve the lives of those battling cancer.”
Kelly served as a co-chair in the previous Congress. He’s joined by representatives from both parties.
“This caucus has a long history of bipartisan success in securing funding for cancer research, promoting legislation to bring new cancer treatments to the market, and providing support to the cancer-affected community,” Kelly said in a statement. “There remains much work to do, but I look forward to working with my colleagues to get it done.”
