Congressman Mike Kelly’s office is conducting an internal investigation into a comment made by a senator saying that Kelly’s office sent him alternate electors in an effort to overturn the 2020 election.
Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson said his office received a document of fake electors from Kelly’s office and was supposed to give it to Vice President Mike Pence.
Kelly has denied those claims, and now his press secretary Matt Knoedler says Kelly’s chief of staff is conducting an internal investigation.
Knoedler said in an email that “Our current chief-of-staff has begun conducting an internal investigation, which Rep. Kelly is aware of and takes seriously. Rep. Kelly does not have knowledge of any potential conversations between Mr. Stroia and Sen. Johnson’s staff related to the 2020 election. Rep. Kelly is discouraged by yet another attack on his personal character and credibility and that of his staff. The Congressman and our staff remain committed to seeking the truth on this matter.”
