Congressman Mike Kelly is co-sponsoring legislation that aims to eliminate taxes on broadband grants.
The bill is called “Broadband Grant Tax Treatment Act” and it would amend the tax code to “ensure that funding for broadband deployment from two federal bills would not be considered taxable income.”
The bipartisan bill is designed to make sure company’s take advantage of grants to help expand broadband, without being concerned of taxes against those grants.
The bill is being introduced in both the House of Representatives and Senate.
