Congressman Mike Kelly joined colleagues to commemorate 100 years of U.S.-Irish diplomatic relations.
Kelly serves as a co-chair of the Congressional Friends of Ireland Caucus. Earlier this week, the caucus remembered the October 7, 1924 meeting between Irish Ambassador Timothy Smiddy and President Calvin Coolidge that formalized diplomatic relations.
Kelly said that “it’s important to remember the role that our Irish ancestors played in developing the United States and the role that so many still play today.”
