An incumbent Grove City Republican has announced his plans to run for a new legislative district.
Tim Bonner will attempt to secure a seat in the state House of Representatives in what will likely be the new 17th district.
Bonner was first elected to representative of the 8th district in a special election in March of 2020 before his re-election to a two year term in November of the same year.
Bonner has been a member of the House Judiciary Committee as well as those dealing with Health, Human Services, and Children and Youth. Bonner also recently spent time helping to challenge Governor Wolf’s shutdown orders in federal court along with no-excuse mail-in ballots in Commonwealth Court.
Both the old 8th and the new 17th districts contain parts of Butler and Mercer Counties.
