Participants from around the world are expected to arrive at Slippery Rock University next weekend for a one-of-a-kind camp.
The Roger Bobo Festival of Brass summer camp will be held on the campus of the university from June 12 through the 16.
Bobo is a respected tuba virtuoso who can be heard on movie soundtracks like Star Wars and Indiana Jones. After retiring from active performing in 2001, Bobo has devoted his time to conducting and teaching.
Brass musicians of all ages will learn from and work with Bobo through master classes, recitals, and lectures. The camp will conclude with a free concert June 16 in the Smith Student Center Ballroom. Admission is free.
Campers, who range in age from 14-70, and hail from as far away as Spain, will take part in the event.
