Tuesday is the last day to register for the annual Christmas parade in downtown Butler.
The 53rd annual Spirit of Christmas Parade is put on by the Butler Radio Network. It will, again, be on the Saturday after Thanksgiving (Sat, Nov. 25) and is a nighttime parade beginning at 5:30 p.m. Parade entries and floats will be accepted through noon Tuesday.
This year’s theme is ‘A Cartoon Christmas’ and entries are encouraged to use the parade theme as the basis of their design. An entry registration form is available here.
Since taking over leadership of the parade in 2012, the Butler Radio Network has grown the event into a daylong celebration with activities for all ages up and down Butler’s Main Street, including an outdoor skating rink and a life-sized CandyLand game.
The nighttime parade draws tens of thousands of spectators and is a big part of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend for many.
