Butler City will have a new council member later today.
The swearing-in ceremony for Fred Reese will happen this morning inside the City Building in Downtown Butler.
Reese was unanimously appointed to the seat earlier this month after the death of Councilman Mike Walter.
Reese, who has served previously as a council member, will finish Walter’s term through 2023. He will oversee the Streets Department.
