Major League Baseball today announced that Pirates pitcher Ivan Nova has been named the National League Pitcher of the Month for April. The 30-year-old righthander went 3-2 with two complete games and a 1.50 ERA in five starts last month. He struck out 22 batters and walked just one, capping off the month with a three-hit shutout at Miami on April 29th. Nova will start today’s game for the Pirates against Cincinnati.
