The Butler County Redevelopment Authority will now have more funds available to help demolish blighted homes.
The County Commissioners unanimously approved a proposal that would grant the authority access to potentially $50,000 of state money per quarter in order to complete demolition on blighted properties.
The money comes from a new state law that was enacted earlier this year.
The Redevelopment Authority has demolished 21 blighted homes since 2013, and 11 of those have happened in the past two years.
Officials said the average cost for tear down of a blighted home is just over $11,000.
