Slippery Rock University women’s basketball guard Brooke Hinderliter, a Redbank Valley high school graduate, has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division “Freshman of the Week”. It is the second time this season Hinderliter has received the honor. Hinderliter continued a strong start to her collegiate career with efforts against #3-ranked Ashland University and Hillsdale College, two teams that will likely be in NCAA tournament contention. In two games last week at the Ashland Tournament Classic in Ohio, Hinderliter averaged 10.5 points, 2.5 assists and steals, while shooting 50% from the field and 75% from the free throw line.
