High School Basketball Wednesday:
The Karns City girls defeated Keystone 56-20. The Gremlins were led by Emily Hegedus with 23 points, who passed the 1,000 career point mark in the game.
The Moniteau girls defeated AC Valley 81-54. Alazia Greaves led the Warriors with a school-record 44 points.
The Moniteau boys defeated AC Valley 65-52. Lake Pry led Moniteau with 24.
WPIAL Wrestling playoffs:
Butler fell to Waynesburg 41-29 in the 3-A first round.
Seneca Valley lost to Franklin Regional.
North Allegheny defeated Peters Township 64-6 in the first round, then defeated Penn-Trafford 42-28 in the quarterfinals.
The Butler boys and girls bowling teams swept North Allegheny 7-0 Wednesday at Perry Park Lanes. The Butler boys had the highest three-game total in the WPIBL this season and clinched the North section.
The Butler boys were led by freshman Chris Huff who threw a 690 series (209-247-234). Junior Shawn Marcellus rolled a 687 series (254-198-232). Senior Nick Huff had a 668 series (188-245-235). Junior Zac Twentier added a 633 series (209-192-232). Sophomore Jordan Reges rolled a 592 series with a high game of 212. With the victory, the Butler boys clinched the North Section title and improved their match record 9-0. They have not lost a single game this season.(27 consecutive games).

The Butler girls were led by junior Mercedes Belch who threw a 561 series with a high game of 202. Junior Nicole Nebel added a 555 series and a high game of 214. Junior Ashley McCue had a 549 series. Sophomore Jordyn Graham added a 535 series. The Butler girls are also 9-0.
