Legendary Nashville honky tonk Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge will host a free celebration to mark its 55th anniversary on October 21st. Randy Houser, Terri Clark, Jamey Johnson and other special guests will play the event, which will be held outdoors in the street on Broadway in front of Tootsie’s.
Tootsie’s plays an integral role in the history of the careers of some of country music’s biggest icons, including Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, Patsy Cline, andRoger Miller. The club was one of the first venues to feature live music.

- The venue was purchased in 1960 by Hattie Louise “Tootsie” Bess.
- “Tootsie” died in 1978, and was buried in an orchid-colored gown and casket.
