The National Weather Service says there has been a record-setting amount of rain so far this year.
From 1871 to 2024 there has never been more rainfall to start a year according to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.
With more than 14 inches of rain to start the year the previous record of 13.68 set in 1884 has been broken. This is also the most rain there has been to start a year since 2020 which say 11.86 inches.
In 2023 by the end of May there was only 10.67 inches of rain.
