Mother Nature didn’t get the memo that Wednesday was a holiday.
Heavy rain started around dusk, causing some problems for people trying to watch fireworks shows around the area.
The rain postponed fireworks set to go off from the Big Butler Fairgrounds in Prospect. The fair says they will set them off Thursday at dusk, weather permitting.
The City of Butler did go-ahead with their fireworks show last night, despite the rainfall. The fireworks were set off at Kelly Automotive Park after a rain-shortened Butler BlueSox victory over Chillicothe.
