Saxonburg, PA- A quick start with a sloppy finish led to the defeat of Knoch on a rainy Homecoming night against Montour. Knoch started the scoring three minutes into the game with a 3-yard rushing touchdown. Knoch came right back in the first quarter and scored another rushing touchdown, this time from 1-yard out. After the first quarter, Knoch led Montour 14-0. In the second quarter, Montour scored first on a rushing touchdown cutting into Knoch’s lead 14-7. Knoch came back on the very next series with 68-yard rushing touchdown and now led 21-7. With 30 seconds left in the first half, Montour scored on a 13-yard touchdown pass. Knoch led at halftime 21-14. Knoch received the second half kickoff and on that series Knoch turned the ball over. Montour pounced on that opportunity as they came right down the field with a touchdown pass off the Kncoh turnover. On the kickoff by Montour, Knoch fumbled the kick and Montour recovered. Montour drove down the field again this time to score on a 3-yard touchdown run. Montour now led Knoch 27-21 after three quarters. The only scoring in the fourth quarter was Montour scoring on a passing touchdown on fourth down with 15 seconds left in the ball game. Montour defeated Knoch with a final score of 34-21. With the win Montour moves to 3-2 in the section and with the loss Knoch now moves to 1-3 in the section. Knoch is back in action next week in Indiana against the Indiana Little Indians.
