According to the PA Department of Environmental Protection radon is a deadly, radioactive gas and the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers.
Test kits can be purchased at most hardware or home improvement stores for about $20. The cost of a system to address unsafe levels of radon is about $1,000.
