Last weekend’s PyroFest was not a big money-maker for organizers but they still consider the event a success.
Director of Events for Peony Entertainment Derek Weber told our newsroom “Not only is it a great thing for the community of everyone that lives around here, but we had a ton of people from out of state so it’s really exposing what a great area it is to other people and its bringing tourism dollars into the area too.”
The festival drew over 15,000 people to Cooper’s Lake Campground in Worth Township.
New additions this year included displays from companies based in China and Spain as well as special effects coordinated with live music from Rusted Root. Organizers are already thinking ahead for next year’s event.
“We’re definitely planning to continue it. We already have a deal in place to continue it at Cooper’s Lake in Butler County. We love, love the site here. We’re already thinking about how do we top this next year. How do we make this better? What’s new that we can bring and make it bigger in the future,” Weber explained.
Spectators at this year’s event traveled from as far away as Florida, Georgia, California, Canada, and El Salvador to take in the show.
