With temperatures expected to be near 90 degrees this weekend, officials with the Pennsylvania Utility Commission are offering tips to conserve some energy.
“Circulate with fans around the house. Follow the shade, and relax in the rooms that aren’t receiving direct sunlight,” PUC spokesperson Dan Hixson said. “Block the heat with the blinds and coverings. And don’t add extra heat by cooking indoors. Outdoor cooking is always a good way to keep the temperature a little lower in the kitchen and around the home.”
Other tips Hixson says is to close off unused rooms, adjust air vents, and raise the thermostat on the air conditioner of few degrees.
