A public hearing for the transfer of a liquor license will be held in Butler Township next month.
After receiving a request for the hearing from Giant Eagle, the Butler Township commissioners chose June 19th at 7 p.m. as the date and time for the hearing at the Butler Township Municipal Building.
Giant Eagle plans for the license to allow for the sale of wine and beer at their Moraine Point Plaza store. The company previously transferred a liquor license to the Get-Go on North Main Street after a hearing in December of last year. Giant Eagle representatives are expected to attend next month’s hearing and provide more information about this transition.
A public hearing is necessary due to the fact that the proposed license is being purchased from an owner in Summit Township and brought into Butler Township. After the hearing, the township commissioners are expected to vote on a resolution which would be enclosed with Giant Eagle’s application for the license submitted to Harrisburg.
