A successful Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference tournament earlier this month has provided the City of Butler Stadium Authority with a good profit.
Stadium Manager Larry Sassone informed the Butler City Parks, Recreation Grounds and Facilities Authority during a meeting Monday that the event ended up making almost $6,000 for the authority.
The PSAC tournament was held May 8th through 11th at Kelly Automotive Park. Nearly $10,000 was collected in gate fees from the event. That amount was divided, with the authority sending about $4,500 back to PSAC.
The West Chester Rams won the event. Next year’s tournament will be held in Johnstown since this was the final year of the contract for the event to be held in Butler. The authority is hopeful that a new contract can be worked out to bring the event back to Kelly Automotive Park.
