The Prospect League has announced that a new team will be joining the league for the 2016 season.
According to the league office, Lafayette Indiana will be the newest addition to the league. Officials say that the league and city had been working together on an agreement for the last three years. The move comes after the Richmond RiverRats ceased operations earlier this month. The Lafayette team will join the West Division, while the rest of the league, including the BlueSox, will stay in their respective divisions.
The team currently does not have a name; however, their Front Office is taking fan suggestions. The lucky fan whose suggestion wins will receive a $1,000 prize.
