Butler County property taxes will likely not be going up next year.
County Chief Clerk Scott Andrejchak presented the 2018 budget of nearly $64.5 million to the Butler County commissioners on Wednesday and it did not include a real estate tax increase. The 2018 budget includes a 2.2 percent increase in spending, or roughly $1.4 million.
The biggest county expenses continue to be rising employee costs and benefits. There are no new positions budgeted for in next year’s budget.
The proposed budget is posted online for public review and will be officially voted on before the end of the year.
