A prominent local businessman and community member died over the weekend.
Dave Tack passed away at his home Saturday. He was the founder of DHT Construction in 1987 before retiring in 2004.
Tack was an active volunteer in the Butler community dating back to the 1970s. He served on the Chamber of Commerce and was an original member of the Butler County Vo-Tech School Board. Tack was also a founder of the Butler County “Stand Tall” program.
Tack was heavily involved with his church and faith. He was a Sunday school teacher at First United Methodist and was also the narrator of the Christmas program.
Tack’s passion was his Cross Ministry, where he manufactured over 82,000 small wooden crosses world-wide with prayers and spiritual messages.
Friends will be received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home today from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church.
Tack was 75.
