A couple of cases with local connections have been recently impacted by the efforts of the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Department of Justice Project Safe Childhood initiative.
Last Thursday (9/12), 28-year-old former Tulsa, Oklahoma resident Shelby Brown entered a guilty plea to running a prostitution ring out of a Cranberry Township hotel in March of 2018. Brown and another individual transported a minor to travel from Ohio and engage in prostitution for about a week. Bown will be sentenced in January and could face up to 25 years in jail, a fine of $500,000 or both. The Cranberry Township Police assisted with this investigation.
Also, last month (8/15) 64-year-old David McAnally of Mars was sentenced to four years followed by eight years of supervised release after a State Police investigation in 2015. That investigation found McAnally to be in possession of over a half million computer images and videos of minor females engaging in sexually explicit conduct. McAnally received and distributed those images over the internet.
