A project that originally began as the addition of public restrooms to a local park has been expanded to include additional improvements.
The Butler Township Commissioners approved a land development proposal earlier this week concerning the township’s Preston Park.
According to Township Manager Tom Knights, the project now includes a new access road and additional organized parking. A wider, one-way entrance and exit are planned to connect with South Eberhart Road. New utilities will be run to the new restrooms and handicapped parking will be placed near those facilities.
This project is made possible in part through grant funding from the state. Construction is expected to be completed six to eight months following the release of that grant money.
