With a special election scheduled for next week for a vacant U.S. House seat, President Donald Trump is set to return to Western Pennsylvania this Saturday.
President Trump will be at the Atlantic Aviation facility Saturday night at 7 p.m. in a pre-election rally to support current Republican State Representative Rick Saccone as he tries to hold off Democratic challenger Conor Lamb in the race to represent Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional District.
Trump carried the 18th district overwhelmingly in the 2016 election; however the latest polls show a close race as Lamb closes in on Saccone’s lead.
Former Vice President Joe Biden will be in town Tuesday to give his support to the 33-year-old Lamb, who has dominated the fundraising race—raising over $3 million since the beginning of the year.
Saccone and Lamb are looking to replace former Representative Tim Murphy, who resigned in October. The 18th Congressional District spans portions of southwestern Pennsylvania. The special election officially takes place on Tuesday, March 13th.
