Today is the day- Butler’s 54th Annual Spirit of Christmas Parade downtown.
The parade starts at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, but there are several free events to take part in before-hand.
A life-sized Candy Land game for children is open inside the Butler YMCA from noon until 4 p.m. Saturday.
A synthetic ice skating rink is set up in the People’s TWP Parking Lot at 205 North Main Street from noon until 5 p.m.
Stop by the Butler City Fire Department to warm up with some complimentary hot cocoa, courtesy of XTO Energy.

Saturday is also known nationally at ‘Small Business Saturday’ where residents are encouraged to visit the local businesses in their community.
There will be free parking on Saturday in the city of Butler at any metered parking spot, including parking lots. The new parking garage is not included.
Motorists are advised to not park on Main Street after 2 p.m. as vehicles could be towed in preparation for the parade.
