Widespread power outages have plagued residents across Butler County, and many may not see their power return until Sunday evening.
Crews- from both West Penn Power and Central Electric- have crews working around-the-clock to get power restored. Power lines were brought down by fallen trees and limbs, or by the heavy snow and ice from the winter storm that started Thursday.
There were more than 46,000 Butler County residents still in the dark, as of 12:30 p.m. Friday. Restoration times varied from late Friday, up until Sunday at 11 p.m.
Crews have been brought in from outside the county to help with restoration efforts.
