A power outage in Cranberry Township Tuesday morning is causing a traffic nightmare on Route 19 and affecting several businesses.
According to West Penn Power, there are roughly 500 outages in Cranberry Township and another 50 in Mars. Power went out about 10 a.m. The cause of the outage is unknown.
Police and first responders have been sent to several intersections along Route 19 to assist with traffic. Drivers are reminded to treat areas where traffic lights are out as a four-way stop.
Firefighters were also reportedly called to at least one local business where someone was struck in an elevator. Crews were reportedly able to rescue that person.
