A transformer explosion has knocked out power to a large section of the northeast corner of the city of Butler.
In addition to the power outage, Route 422 is closed to traffic with power lines down across the highway.
Motorists should avoid the Route 422 area east of Butler.
Crews are incredibly busy all over the county with multiple incidents of wires down and power outages. Thousands of residents are currently without power including over 800 in Summit, nearly 1,000 in Butler Township, and over 1,500 in Middlesex Township.
