The Public Utility Commission hearings on Thursday in Lyndora about a proposed West Penn Power rate increase were not well-attended but the agency is still looking for input.
About a dozen people attended a hearing at 1 p.m. and two people testified at the Tanglewood Center. One person attended and no one testified at a 6 p.m. hearing.
The proposed increase would raise the average West Penn Power customer’s monthly bill by almost ten percent.
Additional hearings will be held over the next three weeks in State College, Washington, PA, Greensburg, and East Stroudsburg.
The PUC has until January 27 to make a decision about the proposed rate increase. For more information about these proceedings, visit puc.pa.gov.
