Poultry exhibits will once again be allowed at fairs and farm shows around Pennsylvania this year.
A year-long ban had been in place due to concerns about the transmission of avian flu. That ban will be lifted June 1.
However, if a case of avian flu is confirmed in the state, the ban will be put back in place immediately.
The PA Department of Agriculture hopes that new testing procedures will better protect the state’s poultry industry against the spread of this virus.
