A portion of a busy highway in Butler County has reopened after being shut down Wednesday afternoon due to wires that could fall down.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation directed local emergency responders to close Interstate 79 between Route 228 and the Warrendale exit in both directions shortly after 2 p.m.
This decision was made as a result of very low hanging power lines near the Wexford exit that could fall down onto the highway.
The road was reopened to traffic shortly after 4 p.m.
