Social service agencies and schools have started to feel a cash-flow crunch as the state’s budget stalemate enters its third month.
But most state lawmakers are still getting paid, although a handful are voluntarily declining their paychecks.
A recent Franklin & Marshall College poll found a majority of registered voters believe state lawmakers should not be paid during budget negotiations when the budget is late.
The average salary of a state senator or representative is about $85,000.
