Butler Township Police are warning residents of a “pet scam” circulating the area.
Police say there are several ads on sites like Facebook, Craigslist and Pennysaver selling puppies.
Most of the ads use out-of-state phone numbers and are likely scams.
Police urge residents to never wire money to anyone and expect a pet to be delivered. They advise purchasing pets through a reputable seller or in-person.
