State Police are investigating a series of burglaries that occurred in Slippery Rock on Christmas Day.
According to police, an unknown person used a blunt object to break a window on a door and gain access to an unoccupied apartment in the Briarhill complex on Grove City Road shortly before 2 p.m. Friday.
The person took $50 and then attempted to cut through a rear door screen to another apartment but that resident was home. The person was observed fleeing on foot towards Glacial Till Road wearing black.
A third resident reported her apartment was entered without force and a small amount of cash and giftcards were stolen. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact State Police in Butler. Residents are reminded that the best way to prevent burglaries occurring is by installing something like a home security camera to deter any potential burglars.
