Police are looking for a Butler man wanted on weapons charges following an incident last week in Butler Township.
According to Butler Township Police, 39-year-old Nicholas Heath has been charged with possession of a firearm prohibited, theft by unlawful taking, criminal conspiracy to commit theft, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of vehicles, and criminal trespass.
Police say that Heath and 47-year-old Eric Deem, also of Butler, were shooting a gun in a wooded area off Evans Road Friday afternoon that was posted against trespassing. The men had driven to the area in a vehicle they did not have permission to use and both have criminal convictions that prohibit them from possessing a weapon.
Deem was taken into custody but Heath fled the area. Anyone with information about Heath’s location is asked to contact the Butler Township Police.
