Near white-out conditions and icy roads on Wednesday afternoon resulted in a couple of accidents in Butler County.
It was about 2:30 p.m. when a driver flipped a vehicle on Eagle Mill Road in Connoquenessing. The driver, a woman, was reportedly not injured. The accident was attributed to poor road conditions.
A second accident occurred about 10 minutes later when a man lost control of his pickup truck and slammed into a tree on Woodridge Road in Butler Township. It’s unclear if the driver was hurt.
Earlier Wednesday, no students were hurt when a pickup truck and a school bus collided in Center Township.
The crash- between a school bus and a pickup truck- happened about 7 a.m. in the 300-block of Mahood Road, near Red Dog Road, in Center Township.
State Police Trooper Greg Bogan said the driver of the white pickup truck crashed into the back of the Valley Lines bus while both vehicles were westbound. The crash left the bus jackknifed across both lanes, and the truck with heavy front-end damage.
There were four students on board the bus, but none of them were hurt. The bus driver was also not hurt. The driver of the pickup truck and a passenger were both taken to the hospital, but expected to be OK.
The driver of a third vehicle had come upon the crash from behind and ended up hitting into an embankment while trying to avoid the crash between the bus and the truck.
