A Butler County mother is in jail after she’s accused of wrecking her vehicle- which had two kids inside- and then not calling for help.
Billie Jo Henry, 43, of Fenelton was arrested Wednesday and is facing a number of charges- including endangering the welfare of children and leaving the scene of an accident.
According to State Police, Henry was driving on Route 356- near Headland Road- in Summit Township early Monday morning when she rolled her vehicle down an embankment. She allegedly had two girls inside her car at the time of the crash- one of which was ejected during the accident.
Police allege Henry did not call 911 or police, and instead left the scene.
The two juveniles were later taken to the hospital by another woman, who is the mother of one of the girls, and treated for what police described as minor injuries.
“The accused was unable to be contacted and did not contact the hospital to check on the welfare of one of the juveniles, who happened to be her daughter,” according to a police report.
Police discovered Henry was driving on a suspended driver’s license during the alleged crash. An arrest warrant was issued, and Henry was taken into custody on Wednesday morning.
She remains in the Butler County Prison.
