Police have made an arrest in connection with the death of a man who was found shot and killed on the side of a road in Muddy Creek Township earlier this month.
37-year-old Nicole Schwartz of Ellwood City is facing criminal homicide charges in the shooting death of Frederick Orr. His body was discovered on Kelly Road during the early morning hours of June 11th.
The two investigating troopers recognized Orr’s body since they had pulled him and Schwartz over earlier that morning.
Schwartz told police that she used to be in a relationship with Orr, but he went to jail at the end of May. That’s when she began a relationship with an individual only described by police as “K.”
Schwartz told police she spent around $3,000 of Orr’s money while he was in jail. When he was released from prison, he contacted Schwartz about the money.
That’s when Schwartz and “K” arranged to pick up Orr in the City of Butler. However, “K” hid under a blanket in the back seat of the car until the two got to Kelly Road.
According to Schwartz, that’s when “K” got out of the car and shot Orr multiple times.
Police found the victim’s blood in Schwartz’s car and other evidence that was linked to the scene of the crime.
There was no description of the man known as “K.” It’s not known if he’s been identified by police.
