Authorities are investigating a recent case of fraud following an incident that occurred last week in neighboring Mercer County.
According to State Police, a 19-year-old Jackson Center woman reported that at least one unknown person attempted to cash two fraudulent checks from her account totaling $700 each.
It is unclear if police have identified any suspects, or if any other local residents were impacted. Mercer County State Bank is continuing to investigate the incident.
