State Police are investigating after a Slippery Rock resident lost money due to a fraudulent phone call.
According to police, the 32-year-old woman received a call last Tuesday (10/22) from a number that said “Butler County Court”.
The caller told the woman she owed over $2,000 and if she did not pay immediately, that price would increase. The woman paid the money to a non-existent law firm called Jackson and Associates Law Group.
The investigation into this theft is ongoing.
