Police are investigating an incident of domestic violence that resulted in a man shot and in critical condition.
State Police responded to a domestic violence situation shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday (8/2) at a home in the 500 block of Helmbold Avenue in Winfield Township.
According to police, an unnamed woman sustained mild injuries in the altercation and left the residence. As she was leaving, she reportedly heard what she believed to be a gunshot and called 911. When police arrived, they found a 28-year-old Cabot man with a gunshot wound to the head.
The man was flown by LifeFlight to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh with critical injuries. His current condition is unknown at this time.
An investigation into this incident is ongoing, police say.
