State Police in Mercer County are asking for help determining the person responsible for deliberately setting fire to a couple of Amish barns.
The first fire was set sometime in the early morning hours of April 18th in Lackawannock Township. That fire was put out before it fully developed so damage was minimal.
The second fire was set during the early morning hours of April 26th to a barn in the same area. That fire caused moderate damage but was also contained before it fully developed.
Both barns held farm animals as well as equipment and were located near the road. Anyone with information should contact the Troop D Fire Marshal Unit in New Castle at 724-598-2246.
