Police are investigating a possible theft from a resident at a Butler County assisted living facility.
According to our news partners at WPXI-TV, the alleged theft happened at Rosebrook Adult Living on South Pike Road in Buffalo Township.
A woman whose mother lives at the facility told WPXI she had noticed money go missing from her on several occasions. She says she decided to take matters into her own hands and set up a surveillance video, which allegedly captured a worker going through her mom’s drawers and looking through her wallet.
The Buffalo Township Police Department says they are investigating the case. A lawyer for the facility says Rosebrook did their own investigation and determined that while they couldn’t conclude the employee took money from the resident, they did feel proper procedures were not followed. The employee has been fired.
