More details have been released concerning a body that was found on the campus of Slippery Rock University on Wednesday.
The death appeared to be a suicide, according to a university spokesman.
Officials say a freshman biology major from Clarion died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His body was found around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday on the Wally Rose baseball field on campus. The field is on Maltby Avenue, behind the Art Metals Building.
State police assisted university police at the scene.
