
One person died in a crash Tuesday morning in Slippery Rock Township.
The accident happened at the intersection of Route 8 and Branchton Road around 6 a.m.
State police say 47-year-old Ruth Alben of Slippery Rock was driving east on Branchton Road when she went through a flashing red signal and pulled out in front of the logging truck which was heading north.
Police say Alben was pronounced dead at the scene.
Route 8 was closed in between Branchton Road and Route 108 for more than six hours.
